- The first public exhibition of many of the entries (not just the winning ones) will be at the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show 2007, at The NEC in Birmingham at 12 midday on 17th February in 2007,
Prize winners have signed individual confidentiality agreements to commit to keeping their designs under wraps until this time.
Non-prize winners are also limited by the requirements of the following clause in the competition's Terms and Conditions:-
- 4.1.5 you agree in respect of all entries that CCL may use, reproduce, exhibit, publish, distribute, display and make available to the public and exercise all copyright and publicity rights and rights of a like nature with respect to the Design worldwide and/or to incorporate the Design in any other works in any media for the period of 2 years (commencing on 13 November 2005);
Entrants should not, therefore make public the details of their entries during the identified period. In the event that entrants wish to promote or publicise their entry within this time period, they should seek permission from The Club's Head of PR nikki.nichol@caravanclub.co.uk. Entrants should be aware that such permission will only be granted in exceptional circumstances, and The Club's decision on such matters is final.
- The Club has already received indications of interest from caravan manufacturers in seeing details of the best of the entries. To this end, The Club hopes to arrange for manufacturers to view a selection of the designs at some point during the period between now and 12 November 2007. Clause 9.1 of the Terms and Conditions below allows The Club to pass on entrants' contact details as part of this process. However, as a courtesy, entrants whose designs are selected for inclusion in this process will be notified in advance that their designs will be utilised in this way.
- 9.1 You agree that CCL may use your personal data for the purposes of administering the Competition, including passing your contact details (whether or not you win a prize) to interested bona fide manufacturers, but that it will not publish them or provide them to anyone without your permission.
- Clause 4.1.5 also means that The Caravan Club Limited needs to retain entries for display and other promotional purposes until late 2007. Entries cannot generally be made available for return before that time, therefore. The exception to this is where entrants submitted multiple copies of the same entry, for individual use of the different judges. The Club only requires a single copy of each entry, and is willing to release any additional copies immediately. Arrangements can be made for these to be collected from The Club's headquarters in East Grinstead by the entrant, their representative or courier. At its discretion, The Club may be able to arrange for postal return of entries. However, it reserves the right to require collection where the entry cannot readily and economically be packaged for safe transit. To arrange for return or collection of spare copies of entries, please use the following contact details: veronica.arequipa@caravanclub.co.uk The Club Headquarters building is open Monday-Friday, 9:15 to 17:15, with possible collection by arrangement within a reasonable time outside of these hours. The building is not open for public access at weekends. Please give at least 3 working days notice to allow your entry to be retrieved from the filing area.
The remainder of entries will be made available for collection on the same terms as above for a period of 3 months commencing 13 November 2007. Entries not collected by 5 February 2008 will be considered unwanted by the entrant, and will be disposed of or handed over to the Club Archive at the discretion of The Club.
