The Judges

A following panel of Judges will meet in November 2005 to consider all entries. They contain expertise in both design and caravanning.

The panel of Judges are:

Ted Holt (Chairman of Judges) , Vice Chairman of The Caravan Club and Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee which deals with all aspects of caravan design, legislation and use. Mr Holt, a caravanner since 1963 is actively involved with Club events, surveys and competitions.

Graham Beacom , Director General of the National Caravan Council (NCC) which was formed in 1939. The NCC is the trade body for business trading in the UK caravan industry, responsible for manufacturers and retailers of touring and motor caravans.

Wayne Hemingway , with his wife Gerardine, were the co-founders and proprietors of the award winning international fashion label Red or Dead. The label was hugely successful in the 1980s and 90s and, having sold off their stake in the company in 1999, they set up ‘ hemingwaydesign’ specialising in affordable housing and product design. They are experienced caravan and motor caravanners having toured across South America and much of Australia with their family.

Professor Robert Kronenburg BA, Dip Arch, M.Phil, Ph.D, RIBA , With research interests in portable architecture, tectonics and design, Professor Kronenburg is a registered architect and holds the Chair of Architecture at Liverpool University . His books include Houses in Motion: The Genesis, History and Development of the Portable Building (second edition).

Jason Rowe BEng (Hons) MSc , Chief Materials Engineer at world-class engineering solutions specialists, Lotus Engineering. A keen caravanner Jason provides a wealth of expertise in advanced materials.
